Welcome to Our Website
Noah Lamport had been in business since the 50's with expertise in cotton goods and sailcloth when in 1962 he incorporated for the purpose of promoting "Aquaflite" sailcloth, a new product made of "Dacron®". This cloth was to revolutionize the sailcloth business and with the advent of fiberglass, help to bring the sport of sailing into the twentieth century and within reach of the average man. Through his work with Lowell North and some talented racing sailors, he developed the first "Mylar®" laminated sailcloth. This "garbage bag" cloth, called that because of its green color, proved to be the winning edge in the Tornado Class Catamaran.

Today, laminated sailcloth is the racing standard and "Dacron ® " is the fiber of choice for cruising sails.

Noah's decision to enter the then new field of synthetic fibers was made because of his constant drive to learn something new and apply it to traditional uses. He pioneered the use of acrylic cloth for boat and sail covers, created the demand for synthetic sails, and when it became time to leave the sailcloth business, he promoted Nylon for flags, tents, and backpacks.

His idea was to provide fabric at wholesale prices to smaller users. He became a converter and wholesale distributor of Nylon fabrics for industrial and recreational uses. His willingness to gamble on unconventional ideas helped create the Hot Air Balloon industry, build the automobile racing safety business by providing Nomex® for drivers suits and parachute fabric for drag racers, ballistic nylon and Kevlar® for transmission blankets and supercharger blankets.
